ROSES

I have developed quite a love for painting flowers that I grow. These are bush roses and this years Spring showing was spectacular. We had an unusually cold winter and so the trees, bushes, and bulbs were much more prolific. I just placed these roses in a simple glass jar to paint.

So simple, but the composition is great...the colors refreshing and the looseness in the peal work...all well done Linda.

I really love those juicy, "unworried" brushstrokes. The painting has a wonderful feel to it.

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
