This is a small 4"x 6" oil painting on a Gessobord.  I have a computer now....new to Windows 10 and having to make adjustments with the camera etc.  Will post now on a more regular basis.  This painting is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Gouache is a medium that I have grown very fond of....I love the clarity and purity of color. This small 5x7 inch painting is done on hot press watercolor paper. Edisto Beach is where we go every Thanksgiving. This is one of the many salt marshes that line the drive to the beach. You can see the fall colors of the grasses in the marsh.

This is a photograph that my husband took while kayaking in one of the salt marshes surrounding our home.  What fun it was to paint.  It is small....only 5"x 7" on hot press watercolor paper.

I felt like painting a landscape today.  This is the salt marsh at Edisto right near where we pic nic every Thanksgiving Day.  It is a special tradition that we engage in year after year. 

Day 5 of the 30 painting challenge.  I had fun with this landscape.  I love to paint the salt marsh....it changes so much during the year from season to season.  This is the marsh during the Fall.  I am feeling my way into landscape painting.  I initially did a quick layout establishing the darks and the general shapes.  I then chose where I wanted my emphasis to be and laid in some of the color notes.  I then went into the shapes and put down color trying to use as few strokes as possible.

  8"X10"   $135.00 For Sale On Etsy Also   This is the area where my husband and I picnic each year at Thanksgiving.  It is a very pretty lush area overlooking the exspanse of salt marsh.  I in particular wanted to capture the exotic feel of the thick underbrush and dense canopy of this sheltered area.    

  $135.00   8"X 10" Also For Sale On Etsy   This is another in the series of Salt Marsh paintings from the land near Edisto Beach.  In this particular painting I wanted to keep the brushwork gestural and lay down as few strokes as necessary to depict the landscape.  Once again I am using a limited palette of Cad Yellow Med, Vermilion, and Ultramarine Blue.  I also used Titanium White and Ivory Black.

  4X6   40   For Sale On Etsy  I have been experiencing many problems with my computer and I hope that they are now resolved. This is an image from downtown Beaufort off of Bay Street.  I wanted to intensify the colors in this painting.  I was working with a cool palette containing Prussian Blue, Viridian Green, Lemon Yellow Zinc White, and Cobalt Vioet.  

5X7 SOLD This was a thirty minute study of the salt marsh near Edisto South Carolina in the fall colors.  I kept it fresh and alive with color.
