Procreate painting......"Purple Plums and 2 Bananas"

I am exploring my Procreate App ad enjoying the freedom that I have.....it is quick and colorful and just loads of fun.  Still continuing my Abstract painting class and I know that you all have seen the changes that I am going through.  I look forward to seeing how this will impact my oil painting.  Thank you so much for being a faithful follower......

Spring Landscape

This small 6"x 8" oil painting is painted on Gessobord.  I enjoyed the entire process from the notan to the finished stroke.  I concentrated my attention to my brushstrokes keeping them to a minimum.  It was an exercise in discipline.

Exuberance

Fun, fun painting to do.  I used a simple palette of Vermillion, Alizarin Crimson, Cobalt Blue, Cad Yellow Lt, and Titanium White.  Well, I did use a touch of Dioxazine Purple.

South Carolina Salt Marsh

I am very dissatisfied with my landscapes and need to explore just what is going on with them.  I think that I may need to actually do some plein air work to understand......anyway I am letting this one rest......

Large Oak near Edisto

I am employing the things that I recently learned from my new DVD and feel that there is a solidity in this painting that wasn't there before.  I enjoyed painting this scene.   Each year we travel to Edisto Beach for the day with a picnic lunch and walk the beach with our dogs.  On our way home we pass this marvelous old oak tree.   I love the majestic oaks of the South.  I also am learning something else about color.  I added Permanent Green Light and I like the brilliant yellow green that I am able to mix.  That combination helped to change this painting into exactly what I was looking for.  One other thing....when you paint....sit back and just enjoy the process from the initial layout to the last stroke put down.

Dining Room I

This is a little 9"x 12" oil painting that I have been working on for months and have finally brought it to a conclusion.  Anyway, I think it is done.  I need to evaluate over time.

Salt Marsh --- Summer ---South Carolina

This is a small 4"x 6" oil painting on a Gessobord.  I have a computer now....new to Windows 10 and having to make adjustments with the camera etc.  Will post now on a more regular basis.  This painting is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Pink Roses

This 8"x 10" oil painting happened over a long period of time.  Note the surface and its' texture.  I did paint this initially from life and then worked on it for many months referring to photos which I took before the roses wilted.   So good to be able to post again.  Hopefully my computer issues are over.... I used a limited palette here.  The palette I chose was cadmium red medium, quinacridone magenta, cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, titanium white, lemon yellow, cad yellow light. For sale in my Etsy shop. So happy to be up and running and thanks for stopping by!
