The painting above and newly listed are painted with Finetec watercolors.  The paper used is a black watercolor paper and because the paint is shimmery there is a beautiful low shimmer to all of the paint.  It is lovely and I am wholly captivated by it.  The paint is a formation of mica which is ground to a very fine powder which is then mixed with pigment and the binder is gum arabic.  It is a very simple mixture and in its' simplicity is very elegant.  There is a limited palette of colors but enough to produce a wide avariance of colorful paintings.  Above in the title the title of each piece is listed in the decending order.  All paintings are for sale on my website..... www.lindahuntfineart.com

I have included the initial layout of the drawing with the values being placed.  In the second listing I am beginning to lay in where the darkest darks will be and where the middle values will be and then where the lightest values are put in.  It was critically important that I work with only a few colors.  I chose cadmium red light, cadmium yellow medium, ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson, emerald green, and titanium white.  This gave the the most beautiful gray violets and pinks.  The reds were vibrant and intense.  It was tricky making the ice.  The umbrella had to be drawn very carefully because it led to the focal point.  The second focal  was the pink salt shaker.  All in all I am very pleased with the painting.  It has a nice value structure which you can see in the last entry.

I have a tendency to overwork a painting and this was an attempt to limit brushstrokes and to work quickly and deliberately......

This is an older drawing that I worked back into....promise I am going to produce soon...having a bit of a time after the hurricane which greatly disrupted our lives.....

I went treasure shopping yesterday and found this small earthenware decanter which I believe may be raku.  It is lovely.  It isn't crooked it is the way that the paper folded when I photographed it.  Anyway the shape and decoration make this a very special piece.

This was a fun painting....I gave myself 30 minutes and limited my strokes and tried not to work over an area more than needed.  I used a simple palette of Vermillion, Quinacridone Red, Ultramarine Blue, Cad Yellow Med, Titanium White.  I love the color harmony when using a limited palette.

I enjoyed this painting and once again I need to photograph under natural lighting tomorrow morning.  The palette that I used was Cerulean Blue, Cad Orange, Cad Yellow Lt., Alizarin Crimson, Titanium White, Ivory Black, and Naples Yellow.

I fell behind in listing drawings in my 30 drawings in 30 days challenge.  I am caught up now.  Some of these drawings are older and ones that I especially like.

    Today was a day where I just felt like drawing.  I bought these great bamboo pens and they are amazing...love working with them.  They produce bold clear line and it is great fun to work with!
