Spider Mum

I am stretching myself and finding it challenging. I am trying very hard to place a color down and leave it. I am also trying to simplify as much as I possibly can. I left this painting when it was still fresh choosing not to rework it.

Wonderful brushwork and leaving it alone and fresh shows!

I love the slashes of brush strokes in the spider mum!

It's interesting to me to see how much detail is in your drawing. The painting is true to the drawing, but it has less detail. Very nice!

Thanks, Virginia...I purposefully kept the painting with less detail...sometimes I think that I work things to death!

Thank you, Kathy...it was tempting to overwork, but, I think that I learned something from this painting.
