Sweet Seduction


I am following my instincts lately and trying something a little different that I am enjoying. I am abstracting the forms and trying to get the feeling of what I found exciting about the set up. I am pushing and pulling the paint to get not only the essence of the color but also the texture. I am having a lot of fun and feel freed from the absolute rendering of an image.

Very good ... I think that takes some skill. The colors read very pretty on my monitor. I understand the frustration of photos not looking like the subject ... grrrr. *wink

Yay freeeedom! your paintings are always successful to me. I really love the color in the coming up roses painting but as i look more at your current post the colors are there as well, only more subtle.

I really love this! Your "abstract realism" is a great way to put it, but unless one views the actual work the title just doesn't "live up" to the spectacular way you paint!! Fresh! Spontaneous! Loose! Great drawing skills! I love it!

I can completely relate to this Linda. Life is short and we should at the very least push ourselves to our own excellence whether it's realism, impressionism, abstraction, whatever. The love of it just carries us...

VANITY SOLD

LITTLE ORANGE TEAPOT SOLD

Red Orange is another of my favorite colors. When I saw this great tea pot in one of the stores in town I wanted it right away. But, I thought and thought about it and when I went back to the store it was still there and I decided that it was mine! I am not a tea drinker but I have always loved the shapes and sizes and variety of design of teapots. In this painting I backlit the teapot with natural and studio lighting.
