Bananas



Yellow is such a difficult color for me to work with. . .I think it is because of the difficulty in defining values. I set these bananas against an aqua glass vase. I am not so sure I captured it so that it looked like glass. The vase is a flat and not round object and that made it even more difficult. Sometimes when I see it on the screen I can see it better. Any suggestions on what I could do to make it appear more transparent? I welcome all comments!

Love these great brush strokes. I find bananas to be one of the hardest fruits to paint but you nailed it!

LITTLE ORANGE TEAPOT SOLD

Red Orange is another of my favorite colors. When I saw this great tea pot in one of the stores in town I wanted it right away. But, I thought and thought about it and when I went back to the store it was still there and I decided that it was mine! I am not a tea drinker but I have always loved the shapes and sizes and variety of design of teapots. In this painting I backlit the teapot with natural and studio lighting.
