Exersize

This is the Carole Marine exersize that I am unable to post on her site...for some reason...sooo I am posinting it here. It was quite challenging and certainly clearly showed me where my weaknesses are. The panels read from right to left and top to bottom. I think it is pretty clear where my last paintings were.

Child Day 18

I want to learn more about drawing faces. This is a copy of a drawing in a Dover book that I found. It helps you to understand the proportional difference between infants, children, and adults. I want to do more work from this book to get a better feel for the portrait.

Well, you didn't pick an easy subject for your exercise!
A translucent glass cup! You did show a nice improvement over the course of the paintings. Good job!

Thank you all for your encouragement...I am having such a wonderful time drawing. It helps to have a focus in mind! I have challenged myself to 30 days, but, I really want to draw this way for a year...but I am going to try 3 months first.

Beautifully painted cups. What a lovely color. I was going to tell you my favorite then upon close inspection I couldn't ... I like them all.

Your cups are really beautiful! I like these 10 minute exercises and I find that they are fun to do. Your drawings are fun to see, also. You are doing so great with sketching. What Dover book are you using?

I am on a Peony roll here.....just enjoying the process of painting and color.  Can be purchased here .

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
