LITTLE ORANGE TEAPOT SOLD

Red Orange is another of my favorite colors. When I saw this great tea pot in one of the stores in town I wanted it right away. But, I thought and thought about it and when I went back to the store it was still there and I decided that it was mine! I am not a tea drinker but I have always loved the shapes and sizes and variety of design of teapots. In this painting I backlit the teapot with natural and studio lighting. I was experimenting with the changing values and shadow.

Lovely little teapot, Linda. I picked up a white one just like this. Figured I could paint it or design it anyway I wanted..... hmmmm!

Very Beautiful Tea Pot! I love the contrasting colors!

I watched a great video today on composition and thought of you. Although it is watercolor, she is great at abstracting and composition. I rented it from the library,

Thank you Kelley and Carol! I liked working with the backlit format...It made for very interesting color combinations.
Love this little teapot Linda. Gorgeous colours as well. Well done, and all the best.
Vic.
I really like the way you apply paint... just so loose and yet it reads so well.
I love the jump between the yellow teapot and the background. Nice, loose brushwork!

Vic so nice to have you stop by...your paintings are really very nice...like the one with the couple walking on the path...very natural with feeling.

Marian...thank you...sometimes I wonder whether they are readable...I verge closely to abstraction.

Kelley...thank you for stopping by I appreciate your comments.

The thick, yet liquid quality of the paint is so nice in this piece, Linda. As always with your work, the abstract quality draws me in. The treatment of the shadow, with similarly rendered edges to the actual teapot, lends itself to that abstraction beautifully.

Pretty in Pink

I am on a Peony roll here.....just enjoying the process of painting and color.  Can be purchased here .

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
