Smoked


This was an interesting to work on.  It is a high key painting and that presented its own kind of problem.  I really wanted the saltines to stand out and so I needed to work the values.  The smoked oysters were really fun to paint.  I have been wanting to paint them for months.  I am trying to decided whether or not I should include the roses that were on the paper the plate was sitting on.  I hope that I didn't make it too cutesy......what do you think?

LITTLE ORANGE TEAPOT SOLD

Red Orange is another of my favorite colors. When I saw this great tea pot in one of the stores in town I wanted it right away. But, I thought and thought about it and when I went back to the store it was still there and I decided that it was mine! I am not a tea drinker but I have always loved the shapes and sizes and variety of design of teapots. In this painting I backlit the teapot with natural and studio lighting.
