Iris and Grapes still life by Linda Hunt

10X8

Finding the proper balance of color and value is one of the biggest challenges I face in painting at this point in time.  What you see doesn't necessarily have to be put down...in this painting I felt that a deeper color and value in the foreground helped to pop the color and light in the rest of the painting.

You know I love Irises, and I love this painting. Warm harmony of colors and wonderful light. Well done.

I see your marble work in this piece. All those undefinable colors ...the neutrals. That glass is what I live for.
so so exquisite. Oh and all the wonderful angles and shapes.
You can do no wrong. You are a painters painter.

LITTLE ORANGE TEAPOT SOLD

Red Orange is another of my favorite colors. When I saw this great tea pot in one of the stores in town I wanted it right away. But, I thought and thought about it and when I went back to the store it was still there and I decided that it was mine! I am not a tea drinker but I have always loved the shapes and sizes and variety of design of teapots. In this painting I backlit the teapot with natural and studio lighting. I was experimenting with the changing values and shadow. 8X8 inches oil Raymar Canvas Panel (Archival)
