Summer Bouquet

This was a nice set up to work from. I chose a larger format and enjoyed the increase in size. With this painting I did an underpainting and was careful to plan more fully. I determined the key that I wanted the painting and worked my color from there. In particular, I enjoyed painting the flowers and the pattern on the background paper.

Kathy, thank you for your comment...I appreciate your visits to my blog!

Vic, thank you so much for your comment. I think that working with a strong underpainting works well for me. In this one I used a warm red which can barely be seen, but it helped me organie.
Love the lose and FUN way this is painted!!!

Really lovely! I love those glasses--the colors and the way they are cropped at the edge of the painting. My favorite part of the painting are the coral flowers. Just gorgeous!

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
