Cantaloupe and Blackberries

I am enjoying my still life box and feel that it has improved many aspects in my paintings. I want to experiment a little more with light bulbs to see what the differences are. In this painting I used a portriat bulb which casts a soft light.
Oh, those blackberries I need a little practice on those babies. They were such a challenge. Cantaloupe is always a favorite of mine because of the red orange color.

Nice work. I can see how those blackberries would be a challenge, but you did them well.

This is great. You did wonderful on the blackberries- they look like I could reach in and pick them out to eat!
Glad box is working out. Carol Marine had some info on her blog about lighting in case you missed it- maybe a day or two ago?

I too think you did a good job with the blackberries. I also love the different shades of red orange in the cantaloupe.

I can see why you enjoy painting cantaloupe, those orange tones with the green rind and the tan skin is lovely and you painted it beautifully! You've probably heard this before but your brushwork is fantastic - so committed.

Nice one Linda. I will have to give blackberries a try. I think you did a great job on them.

I am on a Peony roll here.....just enjoying the process of painting and color.  Can be purchased here .

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
