Citrus

It takes almost as much time to set up a still life as it does to paint one....whew....it has to speak to me to be right.  I had a lot of fun with this painting.  My objective was to work with intense color...The vase contains vinegar water so you can imagine that my studio smells like a salad.....In this painting I used a palette of Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Thalo Blue, Quinacradone Magenta, Titanium White, Cad Red Light, Coral, Sap Green, Naples Yellow, Yellow Ochre....wellllll I just wanted a rich full palette....

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
