Eggplant and Hibiscus

I had fun painting this one today.  Eggplants are such a luscious vegetable with rich colors and reflections.  I am getting more used to my Rosemary brushes and now realize that they hold paint very well and the stroke is smooth.

Thank you, Sue....there is glare on the photo which I can't seem to eliminate. I photograph under a skylight and I believe that is why I often get a glare on the raised paint.

Thanks, Jerry! I had fun with this palate. I don't often work with a darker palette and this was a conscious effort. ALso, I chose to work on a gray palette which helps me judge the lightness and darkness of the paint better.

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
