Gerbera

I had fun with this painting. The experimental beginning included ink drawings to find the composition that was most interesting, and then working the design to establish a light dark pattern. After all of these details were worked out I then began to paint. It was a lot of fun and I felt that I acheived a better palette and a more cohesive composition.

It is a great composition, Linda. Terrific job on those daisies, too. The dark shadows are a lovely contrast to the bright yellow greens. One of my favorites!

Thank you, Virginia. I have been studying the work of Polly Hammett and learned a great deal. Check out her work!

Pretty in Pink

I am on a Peony roll here.....just enjoying the process of painting and color.  Can be purchased here .

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
