Pink Roses and Yellow Table

This painting has seen many revisions and I think that I am now satisfied.  I am still using the 3 color palette...but to vary the reds I used Quinacridone Red.  I like the true reds and the darker reds that I could get.  I also used a bit of Permanent Green Light to get a true green.  Those are two of the colors that I have the most trouble getting exactly what I want.  Maybe I am just not mixing correctly.

Fresh Roses

I love the roses in this painting....they are a luscious color.  Still using the 3 color palette and becoming more comfortable with it each time I paint.  This was a still life that I painted from life.  This little oil painting is 10"x 8" on a stretched cotton canvas.  When dry it will be for sale in my Etsy shop.

Red Bird II

I felt that working more on this painting seemed like a good idea.  I used the 3 color palette with the addition of Quinacridone Magenta which allows me to achieve the red violets and blue violets that I like so much.

Pip

This is a commission that is long overdue.  I used the 8"x 6" gessobord as a support.  I also used the 3 color palette that I have been working with and just love it......I love Molly's ears and her sweet face.  I also worked on edges after reading the FB post today.  This was shot from my phone and I will reshoot tomorrow with my camera.

Fort Freemont South Carolina

This is a large landscape painting which measures 24"X 36" on medium weight stretcher bars.  I enjoyed working on this painting...I did work from a photograph that I took.  I am still working with the 3 color palette and learning to love it.

A Place Is Set

I have been working on this abstract for many months and it was just not going anywhere.  But, today I felt inspired to work on it.  I feel that the direction is good and one that I have been seeking.  Once again I will say that I am not sure of the primary colors that I am using...although I am trying to persevere.  Leave comment please and tell me what your reaction is...it would appreciate it so much.

Ornaments

I know that this is a little early, but I had done this painting some time ago and felt that it wasn't any good...so today I wanted to try again with what I have been learning.  Yes, I am working with the Primary colors that I will be using in the upcoming workshop.  I am beginning to gain a love for them...the only thing that I miss are the red violets and blue violets....but I may learn to mix them with more practice.  By the way the colors are Cadmium Lemon, Ultramarine Blue, and Vermillion.  That is it other than a Titanium White.  Pretty fun really...:)

Still Life I

I am thinking about this one.....Ahhhhhh now I am happy....I have learned tons.  I still am a little iffy about the 3 colors...but I am going to persevere and see if I can learn to love them.  I am taking a workshop in about 6 weeks with James Richards from Georgia and these are the colors I will be working with.  So I just want to practice.
