RED HIBISCUS SOLD

Well, this is a total experiment. Have you ever just been tired of what you were doing and needed a change? I have been feeling this way for several weeks. I bought some acrylic paints just to experiment with a different medium. I found that because the paint dried very rapidly I could experiment with the color a little more! It is fun!! I still have a great love for oil....but I think this will enable me to learn something new.
6X6 inches
acrylic
canvas panel (archival)

Love the abstract quality of this piece, great job!
Such a good design, so very Japanese in feeling, and the colors are so sophisticated.

Yes! I totally know what you mean. I've been experimenting too. Linda - this looks great! I just love all that strong colour in the vase. Exciting!

It's good to break out of our routine isn't it. I'm experimenting too with a different style. Acrylics are challenging because of that drying but it's fun to be able to go right over something. Nice painting. Which kind of acrylics did you try?
I love it! The colors are bold and soothing, how did you do that? You found the perfect vase for an hibiscus. I have photographed them and placed them in a lot of different ways and never could get a still life I like. This is just perfect!
Geeez...this is stunning! Keep "experimenting" with those acrylics! (But I love your oils too).
This is just lovely and the color is amazing. I often enjoy acrylics once in awhile. It seems to allow more spontaneous experimentation. You've inspired me...I'm off to get mine!

In a word yes, I love to jump in and try new things all the time. It keeps it fresh and there's always something to learn with different mediums. I've worked with encaustic with your attitude and it was great fun!!! Love it Linda!
A delightful painting!

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
