Showing posts with the label candy
I have been busy working with my new mica color infused waterolours.  They are so much fun.....it really doesn't show the shimmer over the internet....but they really shimmer and sparkle.

New work.....

Chocolate Cherry Bliss

This was a fun painting....I gave myself 30 minutes and limited my strokes and tried not to work over an area more than needed.  I used a simple palette of Vermillion, Quinacridone Red, Ultramarine Blue, Cad Yellow Med, Titanium White.  I love the color harmony when using a limited palette.

Tempting

This is a 7"x 5" oil painted on Gessobord.  I used a controlled palette of Alizarin Crimson, Cad Red Med, Ivory Black, Naples Yellow, and Titanium White.  I did mix my red with a bit of Cad Orange.  My apple melted under the bright light.....the candy just slumped off.....:)

Daily sketch #45

I have been working on some daily sketches and this one was the only one I care to show....I need to keep working on the ones that didn't cut the mustard....

Candy Orange Slices

I love the look, feel, taste and smell of candy orange slices....I love them so much that I ate every bag that I brought into my studio until I decided that to stop this behavior I would spray the inside of the candy bag with varnish......well, these will remain forever untouched.  I am charting a new course with this full month of paintings.  I am going to play with the color and application of paint to satisfy my own inner rhythm....the color is a bit dull because I photographed in my studio under halogen lighting after daylight had long since disappeared.  Tomorrow I will photograph again and post.  I also made a slight change that I like much better.  I just photographed and the colors are correct now.

Pink Gumball Machine

I have hung on to this pink gumball machine for a long long time.  This is another one of those items that have been in the back of my mind just gestating for the appropriate time  to paint.  I used my alizarin orange paint stick in this and love that color.  I bought 3 paint sticks and plan on using them when I can.  I think the brand is RL.  They are particularly creamy and smooth to use.

One Raspberry Truffle

One little raspberry truffle................................... 3"x4" Artist Trading Card.

Raspberry Truffles

OK so its Valentine candy that is on my mind...I have vowed not to eat it just to paint it or toss it out.  This little 5"x7" painting is painted with gouache paints.  I enjoyed this little painting.  Oh by the way, the dollar store had so many items that could be used for still life material...and inexpensive!

Allsorts

4"X 6" Oil Canvas Panel $90.00 I have made a small video showing the process of painting this painting from start to finish you can find it on my Facebook page.  http://www.facebook.com/lindahuntfineart Tricky little painting to do!  Getting the color to work was a real challenge.
