BUTTER BEANS

This little shack was part of a greenhouse and novelty gift complex. The name was Butter Beans. Unfortunatley it is no long in business but holds sentimental value to me. It is located in the heart of Port Royal which is a small community right on the waterway. I used to love the fresh flowers that Butter Beans carried and would bring them home to paint. When I drove past the other day I had to stop and snap a photo. I have always wanted to paint this sweet building and its surrounds.

Lovely. It's so much fun to find places like this and so sad to see them gone. Nice to capture it in a painting!
Hi Linda.
I love this one. I also love your use of those brilliantly bold colours. Well done Linda, and all the best.
Vic.

Wonderful painting, and I also used to love to go there.

Gorgeous! I love the way you've captured the subtle golds, peaches and greens of this delicate rose. I also admire the way you've balanced the soft flower with the hard, yet delicate salt shaker. Really nice composition!

Thank you, Victor! I really don't do many landscapes. I would love to do more plein air work but it is too hot and humid most of the time here in the South. I admire that you go out as you do and work from nature. All the best to you!

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
