SLICED SOLD

I grew weary of the approach to painting that I have been doing and decided to just pull out all the stops today when I painted. I wanted to capture the essence of the sliced tomatoes. I wanted to paint rapidly and respond to the color and shapes as quickly as I could. I was pleased with the results. I find that sometimes I get caught in the process of trying to paint what I think it should be rather than what I intuitively feel and see.

I like this. I am going to have to try to paint some fruit like this, I have not done any before except flowers.

I like this, I should try painting some fruit, never done any, just some flowers a few times.
You nailed this one, Linda - got the orangy red color that MAKE a tomato!

Love those juicy reds. Great job on the values and the way each stroke looks spontaneous and lively.

I agree with Kelley, you have really captured the nuances of red and orange that make up a tomato.
Nice brush work.

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
