My Festive Shoes

In this painting I used full color. Usually I mix my own blacks as I did in this painting, however, I did resort to using tube black to obtain the blackest black. I worked hard to trnaslate what I had learned from working with 4 values as in the firtst painting. I find that the translation into color is a tricky thing and this may be where I need to work harder. It is an interesting exersize to do a series of paintings from one subject.

I have been thinking of doing some black and white paintings and think that I too may use tube black, or at least try it and see...
Fun, festive shoes Linda.

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
