Calendula SOLD

Summer is definately here in the South. I have two large calendula plants on either side of the driveway to our home. As I was pulling into the driveway the sun was literally dancing from one bloom to the other! I love it when something speaks loudly enough that you have to answer back.

Never heard of a calendula plant, but sure is nice Linda. Love your blue strokes against the yellow petals!

your paintings never look contrived--they are lively, intuitive, so painterly but- besides your brushwork- I especially like your use of colour and chroma

Such a breath of fresh air in this painting. Wasn't familiar with calendula, going to have to find some. Lovely colors.

The economy of line is what always thrills me in your work, Linda! Especially as I am such an "embroiderer" on canvas. The glass is perfect and the yellow makes a lovely match for the vase!

You captured the dancing sun in your painting too, Linda. So fresh!

I love how every brush stroke counts. And you are so good at capturing reflections and glass.

Love the painterly loose brush work in this piece. The thicker impasto areas are gorgeous.

I, too, love the painterly approach. I love calendulas and you really captured their beauty.

How DO you do it? One lovely painting full of fresh colors after another! My calendula won't have flowers until late July I'm guessing. Do you ever throw the petals in a salad?

Linda, your art is so easy to look at. Ice cream for the eyes. Fresh and vibrant colors. No wait, make that sherbert. And who doesn't love sherbert!
