Augusta

Once every couple of years my husband and I take a day trip to Augusta, Georgia.  I am really not sure why we began this trek, but it is something that we enjoy.  There is a restaurant that we eat at and along the streets is the typical outdoor eating spots with bright colored shade umbrellas.  There are a number of thrift shops that we visit which is one of our favorite things to do.  These bright orange umbrellas caught my eye!  This is so Southern!!!  The day was incredibly hot and the sun was very bright.  I think that this image captures the feeling of the day.

It does capture the feel of the day, and I love it. My daughter lived in Augusta for many years, and I loved to visit her. Where is this restaurant located?
Such a great painting and subject. Perfect!

Hi Jerry,
The restaurant is on the main street. The place that we like to eat is Nacho Mama's. It is a funny place, but always bustling with business. There is a large rather strange stained glass piece at the entrance above the door. Does that ring any bells with you?

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
