Rose V

I have had another wipe out, and this may not be much better, but I am posting it anyway. In some ways I like it because I think it has an oriental feeling to it. I just need to work harder on values shapes.

Linda,
You are on to something I think. Wipe outs can mean something like growth so hang in there. Your work in inspiring.

Hi Linda.
Why are you worried about value shapes? This painting is beautiful. your usual beautiful colours and Brush strokes. forget about value shapes when your paintings are coming out like this one. All the best Linda.

Linda, as someone who has a tendency to overwork a painting (me), I find this one so refreshing. I love the simplicity and the color and especially the lushious brushstrokes. Very nice work!!!

Yes, I also think it has an Oriental feel in every good sense of the word. That red vase is such a beautiful, glowing color. Your values look stellar from here. Exquisite!

Bisous
This is stunning to my eye!

Ah, precious! You soft and buttery application of paint makes your little gems unique, Linda!
I believe you must have been having a bad day..,the painting is beautiful but you just couldn't recognize it at the time! We all get this idea in our heads about how something SHOULD look, and when our painting does not match that idea, we think we have failed. This is the perfect example of one painter's "failure" being everyone else's "masterpiece". Be careful what you wipe!

Linda, I love this painting. Sometimes we're too close to our own work to see the reality. This is an excellent piece, no wiping out, please.
