Audrey's Toe Shoes

10"X8"
Oil on Linen
$175.00

I pushed and pulled the values and color in this painting.  The toe shoes proved to be a formidable challenge.  It is important for me to push through the desire to finish a painting and patiently wait until it begins to take on a life of its own.  I once had a professor who said that you know when a painting is done when it  breaths on its own.

Toute comme la danseuse vous avez donné tout de vous-même et j'aime ces couleurs qui dansent et flirtent avec notre regard...

And this one does breathe on its own. Great painting, Linda. I love it!!!

Thank you Martine and Jerry. The toe shoes were really difficult to paint. The fabric was loose and wavy and it was too much detail. So I had to simplify.

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
