This is another peony painting where I chose to go very abstract and yet maintain some semblance of the look and feel of the flower.

The colors are so yummy on this one .
I enjoyed seeing your brush strokes and the fact that this takes up the whole 6 inches. Really impressive.

This is what I have always wanted and still strive to do. I can feel the weight and the heft of the flower. the saturated color is an inspiration to me. I must buy that book you are working from . The cool palette fascinates me...I will look back in my email and find the book...amazon must have it. I hope...Your hard work and study is showing.

Oh and I ordered a copy of the book...it was strange because it varied from 85 dollars to nine dollars. How can that possibly be. It must have to do with when it was printed. Both are hard cover. I want to experiment with those cool tones.

I also noticed that the books vary in prices and by quite a bit usually. I don't really know why they vary so much! I hope that you enjoy the book. I added a paypal button if you are interested in this painting. I am glad you mentioned it because I am going to start adding buttons.

VANITY SOLD

LITTLE ORANGE TEAPOT SOLD

Red Orange is another of my favorite colors. When I saw this great tea pot in one of the stores in town I wanted it right away. But, I thought and thought about it and when I went back to the store it was still there and I decided that it was mine! I am not a tea drinker but I have always loved the shapes and sizes and variety of design of teapots. In this painting I backlit the teapot with natural and studio lighting.
