Salt Marsh I

Well, folks....I will be out of a computer again for several weeks.  So I will post what I can until I don't have a way to do so.  This is an 8"x 10" oil on stretched canvas.  Low country scenes are always fun to paint.  My husband shot this image this past summer.
I have learned that varying the size and direction and thickness of paint makes for a better, more interesting painting.  I achieved some of this in this painting, but I think it needs more variation.  So many things to think about while trying to keep it altogether.
Oh, did I tell you that I cleaned out my Etsy shop....yep...threw out half of the paintings into the trash bin.  It felt good to rid myself of paintings that I didn't think measured up and to give my shop and new face.  If you would like to take a peek.... http://www.lindahunt.etsy.com
Sometimes I think that just shaking things up a bit is good.  Many of the paintings that were left were very old and looked over for a number of years.  Fall housecleaning!!!!!

I just came to the same conclusion. I had a rip fest. And I am varying the thickness of my paint more. Also trying to have more colors in each value shape. That one is the hardest for me.
I agree out with the old...I think this landscape is one of your best. More later..Jo

Yes, it just felt so good to toss the paintings in the trash......I am glad you found d my blog because I am leaving FB...I got malware from it and I am not going to risk my new computer. I can still read and comment from my KINDLE though.   6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
