Happy Valentine's Day!



This week's challenge on Daily Paintworks was centered around delicious treats for Valentine Day. I looked over eclairs, cakes, cheese cakes, candy, chocolate covered strawberries and then I found this pretty HUGE cupcake. I knew that the frosting would present a challenge and it did! The biggest challenge came from persuading my two Golden Retreiver sidekicks to not even think about jumping up and taking it. Their noses sniffed this delectible goody out right away!:)

Its beautiful and the dogs deserve a huge treat for their discipline, I'm sure is smells as good as it looks.

Thanks Nancy...it is sitting in the refridgerator and I am debating whether to paint it again or let my husband eat it. I would love to but the points would be a whole days worth of food!:))

Love all the subtle colours. The icing looks great, and I also really like the paper cup around the cupcake!

Thank you, Helen. I found the icing to be quite a challenge. There were so many changes in color and value.

Peach Peony....Day 24

  6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
