'Green Apple' still life by Linda Hunt

When I bought this bottle of rice vinegar I was mesmerized by the color of the vinegar and knew that I needed to paint it. It took some time setting up a still life that would incorporate the beautifully shaped bottle. The swatch of cloth that used is a brilliant cool yellow that has great reflective qualities. I wanted to capture some of the interplay of colors that were thrown from the objects on to the cloth.

This really works! I love all the analogous colors. The red line on the label repeats the color in the jar and is a nice touch. The reflected red on the cloth is lovely.
Love your lush brush strokes! So luxurious!

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
