Grapes of Wrath

I don't always have very creative titles for my pieces, but, this piece came right to mind. Wow...I thought that olives were difficult but they don't even come close to how challenging grapes are. I think that part of the problem stemmed from the fact that I backlit them. I lost the value structure this way. Next time I paint them I will make sure that I have lighting that shows the different planes of each grape.

I think this is wonderful! You captured the whole backlit look which is a hard to do, and, the way the brushwork moves forward on the front edge of the plate is just lovely.

Despite your struggles these are well done. I hope you tackle the other grapes soon. It always helps me when I do another right away.

You took on quite a challenge with the back lighting on the grapes I do believe you succeeded very well with this painting.

Love your commentary on this one, Linda. "grapes of wrath" huh!
just crush those grape into some fine wine....that'll teach em'
Your grapes look amazing. You may have had difficulty, but you've made it look anything but.
Great title. Some times they just come to you and other times you can spend all day thinking about one and not think of a good name. You've picked a winner

Very nice job painting the glass.
Hi Linda, I am just in love with the colors and brush strokes so the value situation, that you speak of, isn't an issue. I love how you paint.

this is a gem-cheers to wrath!
Beautiful!!! Love your color scheme and the abstract-ness of the shadows and reflections in the glass plate.
Lovely painting Linda. And your latest Drawings are great, so delicately drawn. Well done. All the best Linda.
