White Cup and Persimmon

In this painting I was working with several objectives. I tried gessoboard and I have got to give a big hand to anyone that can paint on this. I had quite a time because I am used to the tooth of canvas. It was my intent to paint with grays and produce a white cup. It was challenging. I painted the persimmon one more time. I did find out how to eat this variety. I took out the core and peeded it and sliced the fruit and ate it that way. It was a subtle taste and sweet. It was really good!

Fine job Linda - especially love the reflection onto the mug and handling of the whites.
Never ate a persimmon, but now think I would like to try.

Linda,
I like this- you did good. I love the persimmon and the reflection on the nice white cup! I just went to Trader Joe's and they are ordering some persimmons so I can paint them. Can't wait.
I did not like the gessoboard first time I tried it- now, I love it. Give it another chance.
I like this combination and all the yummy, thick paint you used. I kind of go back and forth with the panels and linen canvas. Like both but my style seems to change a bit depending on what surface I am painting.

Love all your "whites" and the oranges in the persimmon. Beautiful!
Great little painting!!

My husband likes the "hard" persimmons... he calls them cache... (ka ke). I think that's what you've got in the painting...

You've done a beautiful job of this.

Persimmons are so nice in a veggie salad!Do you also put fruit in veggie salads? I love this painting and the creamy textures, Linda!

What a juicy orange stripe going up your cup! Such an eye-catcher.

Great job on this despite your difficulty with gessoboard. I have not had any luck either with gessoboard although I still have a few pieces left and am going to add a few coats of gesso to see if that will give it more tooth.
Fabulous color and value. It takes a bit of getting used to but I like the smoothness of Gesso board.

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
