Pears on Red

In this painting I was working to create shapes that would construct the form of the pear. I wanted to work with vibrant color and chose the red piece of silk that I had stashed away in my piles of fabric. I felt pretty good with the results but it took many tries before I felt that I was actually seeing the shapes correctly. I have found that there is so much to learn that I have to bite off small bits of information at a time.
