Pears on Red

In this painting I was working to create shapes that would construct the form of the pear. I wanted to work with vibrant color and chose the red piece of silk that I had stashed away in my piles of fabric. I felt pretty good with the results but it took many tries before I felt that I was actually seeing the shapes correctly. I have found that there is so much to learn that I have to bite off small bits of information at a time.

Beautiful pears, Linda. You made a great choice in using the red silk. I like how your brush strokes show the planes of the pears. Beautiful color choices, too.

We all have lots to learn - no matter where we are on our art journey. For me, that is one of the paths I welcome!

I like the way you aced all the values yet but did them in vivid colors. Very energizing and dynamic!

I like the very strong contrast of complementaries in the red/green color scheme, Linda.I feel a repeat rhythm in the fact that there are three pears and three horizontal layers (pinkish layer, pear layer and red layer).
Hi Linda.
Lovely painting. I love the shape of these pears, and the cloth is spot on. Well done. and all the best.
