Abstract #5

This weeks assignment in my abstract class was to create using geometric shapes and forms.  This is paper (color aid) paper on a wooden support.  I will fix the paper with some kind of protective finish yet to be figured out.  This abstract stuff feels right at home to me.  Loving it.....

This is cool. I experiment with abstract but find it so challenging. How does one get comfortable with it???

Thank you, Stephanie.....I don't think you ever get comfortable with it because all of the answers are intuitive. But you can work on things like good design.....freshness in application.....and shape......color.....etc.....I think it can be very frustrating until you finally reach the right answer and you know it when you have.....:)

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
