A Place Is Set

I have been working on this abstract for many months and it was just not going anywhere.  But, today I felt inspired to work on it.  I feel that the direction is good and one that I have been seeking.  Once again I will say that I am not sure of the primary colors that I am using...although I am trying to persevere.  Leave comment please and tell me what your reaction is...it would appreciate it so much.

Thanks, Cathy....I am KIND of getting used to this palette....just want to get a hold on it before the workshop.
I like the painting, but I don't see it as an abstract. I see two chairs, two plates, candles, salt and pepper. I get a "x-mas" vibe from it.

Hi Roger, you are right in many aspects....I just felt that it was more abstract than truly representational.....how do you term your paintings because you too abstract representational objects? It isn't Christmas...but it is interesting that you see that.

I really like this! It has an interesting composition and the changing light and brushwork remind me of Bonnard.

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
