Bananas are always a difficult and challenging fruit to pain; I believe it is the yellow that presents the problem.  I wanted to just lightly indicate the impression of the detail on the fabric.  I prefer to keep a clean unencumbered background in my paintings.

Linda, I love your lovely loose style, you have captured so much life in this painting. I also admire your use of yellow, having recently thrown in the towel on my own painting when I just couldn't get the colours right.

Thank you, Wendy. I looked at your blog and like your work very much! The realism that you acheive is note worthy!! The landscapes are truly luscious! Your landscape in Australia is very different than anything I have ever seen. The flowers are just amazing. Thank you for visiting...
