Roses and Cherries

10X10"
SOLD

I deliberated whether or not to spring for the price on these roses and boy am I glad I did...they have been so much fun to paint.  I liked pairing them with the dish of cherries for contrast.  After spending some time away from oils I am excited to once again work with them.  Sometimes a breather is all you need to be inspired.

So glad you are back to oils---this is an exquisite painting.
Welcome back to oil. I know I am an acrylic guy, but I love bold brush strokes and this is a good example of lots of them. Love the colors and that there is so much variation in them. Great work.

Does this mean if I paint in oil I could make a break through?
I am looking for artistic guarantees here?
Oh.....that's right there are none except never "giving upping." That works but slowly ...very very slowly. nancy

According to my accountant, flowers and food purchased for still lifes are tax deductible. I told him I'm going to become a famous painter of steak, sushi, lobster, champagne... :)

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
