April 22 2010 Earth Day

One of the most difficult aspects of blogging is finding words to say about each piece. Today is a beautiful Spring day. It is sunny and the temperature is perfect with a slight breeze. As I was sitting in my studio looking out of the patio doors toward the water this is what I saw. I couldn't get to my paint brushes quickly enough!! I haven't painted many landscapes and so my tries are largely with little training. Having said that, it was really a good thing. I enjoyed the elements and the wonderful sun filled colors.

Love the greens in this one. Are you what they call a "colorist"? I never understand all those terms that are supposed to define painters.

Hi Linda, your colors are wonderful. I was out painting today too. It's always good to get out and paint!
Linda, you should paint more landscapes, (or Seascapes), this one is wonderful. All the best.

It's wonderful. I just love how loose and easy you make it seem. Sometimes the paintings are borderline abstract and I so appreciate that. Lovely.

Peach Peony....Day 24

6"X 6" Oil Ampersand Gessobord $125.00 I'm ready to chill out after this one.  It was really HARD!   So many petals going all different ways.  I am pleased with the results.  I have to laugh at myself....I thought of showing a step by step process in the painting of this peony....but....never looks like anything until the last few strokes!  I am happy with this painting however I got here.  This painting is found here :
