I thought that it would be very simple to cut the sliced onions and paint them. This particular onion is strong smelling and mades the procedure more difficult.
I am still continuing to work directly and not lay down a detailed drawing. I am working to allow the color and shape to define the form.

I love the lemon. It is as fresh looking as it tastes. Yellow is a very tricky color to work with, but I feel that I got the kind of feeling that I was looking for. I kept the palette high key to maintain the light.

I love the creamy appearance of an avocado. This green gray dish really off set the color and texture of the fruit. This was one of those paintings that seemed to paint on its own with me as only a bystander and observer. I love it when this happens!

I was browsing one of the kitchen stores and found this wonderful hammered silver bowl. I just fell in love with it thinking, and rightly so, that it would make a terrific painting. Yesterday when I went shopping for things to paint I just couldn't pass the vine tomatoes by they were so red and luscious looking. The two items were a perfect match.
Oh but let me tell you how difficult it was to paint! The red was glowing and the silver hammered bowl proved to be a challenge. But, I like the way the little painting turned out.

I shopped for salad fixings yesterday and bought 2 bunch of radishes because they were so large and beautiful. I liked placing them on the white tiles. This painting is very refreshing to look at and really reminds me that in the South summer in here.

This is a copy of a photograph that I saw on FB. I wanted to give credit to Beautiful Dreamers's Photography. I generally never copy...
I have a tendency to overwork a painting and this was an attempt to limit brushstrokes and to work quickly and deliberately...... ...
